Glass + Metal + Thomas O’Brien

Date November 9, 2007

Thomas O’Brien designed some beautiful barware for Reed and Barton. A lot o fit is very bar-classic…kind of a silver screen look where the men are always in suits in the office and the first words out of their mouths after the handshake are “Care for a drink?” This particular decanter, although it has a classic shape, has a modern elegance to it with the combination of the smooth blue glass (no intricate cut crystal here) and the metal cage. I love it (I love that Eva Zeisel pitcher beside it too!!) but I can’t seem to find any additional info on cost or how exactly to get it. If anybody has seen this, please comment.

I just found a different picture of this decanter on the Point Click Home blog. It’s called the Cynthia Decanter. It is not a combo of metal and glass at all - that was a trick of the photography. It’s actually all cut crystal. I liked it much better as glass and metal… See the picture below.
